Were you happy with the box? Thinking about getting one
Good street box for sure.
Consider changing the oil cap to a swivel fitting as well. Makes removing the oil cap to add fluid much easier. Otherwise you have to loosen the hose each time
not a bad idea.
What bolt did you use to get that leverage on the cam? Was that a head bolt?
some random bolt I had. it's a M8 thread on the cam bolts. you can also just use a long rod or dowel.
@@3rdGenGuy thanks
that door slam at the end was satisfying as hell. I gotta make these upgrades on my 3rd gen, my doors sound hollow lol
Part number?
parts stores will have many main seals in stock. but This one is a "FEL-PRO BS 40626"
Thank so much, greeting from Bangkok,,,,,
I was looking for the link of the catch can and the adapters
www.radiumauto.com/VTA-Competition-Catch-Can-P2449.aspx www.radiumauto.com/Low-Profile-Swiveling-Banjo-Fittings-P1355.aspx I'm also not sponsored I just like Radium stuff.
@3rdGenGuy I loves the setup bro. Very professional looking and easy.
@@3rdGenGuy ima have to rewatxh your video to see what all you bought lol
That looks pretty simple to do thanks for some good advice
You could save a few grams of weight and strengthen that bracket by drilling a hole in it and “dimple dying” it just a thought ! 🎉but she looks really nice bro !
Excellent!
No help thank you
explain what you didn't understand about a GM rotor replacement?
SAY SOMETHING!!!! Please EXPLAIN NEXTTIME….
sry, the UA-cam algorithm removed the audio.
In my next video, I install wings, a jet engine, and take Elon for a ride to Mars. Yeah, I could see that. Nice work! Thanks for sharing.
Your car sounds like porn man. Haha wojoo good vid again. Kind regards from Amsterdam
I'm confused. With no vaccum source ie routing to the throttle body, how exactly does it work???
its venting the excess crankcase pressure, don't really need a vacuum source to pull it out.
@@klynsma76Understood. I know you said that it would smell a little but I didn't really see a vent so there is my confusion
@tonym6854 oh that wasn't me lol. But, it's a neat catch can you can hardly tell it's vent to atmosphere.
Autocross or road racing has basically Zero vacuum available. the intake at WOT has 0.0 vacuum, so you have to get crankcase gases out by venting. even the intake tube has almost nothing vacuum wise. 3/8 lines aren't big enough to -10an (5/8) is used. that can is a full race can, has drawbacks on the street, but also Pros at a track
@@3rdGenGuyMakes perfect sense. My stuff is street performance so I never really thought of wide open throttle nearly constantly.
Does the distance for the axle clamp from the differential have to be the same? Mine, when made level came out 2 inches for the driver side and 2-1/4 for the passenger side. Yours appears the same, that the passenger axle clamp was out further from the diff. I know with UMI and BMR they state to have them out as far as possible, but all the research I've done on FAYS doesn't cover it. In my mind they should be the same distance if the arms are the exact same length.
The lengths need to be about the same. A longer arm travels a different arc. so if one arm is too long, it'll jam up the watts link. the fay2 instructions do mention that.
@@3rdGenGuy the arms are the same length (8 threads pivot side, 3 threads axle side) but the axle clamps are not the same distance from the diff. I'd be curious of your measurements.
as long as the center pivot bolt is centered, the clamps can be a bit off. assuming the arms are equal length.
I recently bought a 87 and for a car almost 40 years old it doesn’t rattle at all. Only thing I noticed is a slight squeak in the rear suspension.
How the heck you get 335s in the front?
watch my other 2 wheel fitment videos!
Great job and great editing. Thank you.
I would like to have that for my 2nd gen Camaro!
don't let your dreams be dreams. weld one up
What color blue was that 89
I think that's the OEM blue.
Would u really need a panharf relocate bracket or would an adjustable panhard bar do the job??
lowering a panhard bar mount on both sides is for racing. otherwise the pass side is lowered mildly for exhaust clearance,
Whats the difference in the weight jacks in place for the regular coilspring in the front??
weight jacks allow you to adjust ride heights. about 4in of range
What shift knob is that? Been wanting to try something different than the ball
it's a 3d printed knob I've been trying out. basically a lightbulb shape ha ha
Awesome
Wow
I was thinking to upgrade to 4th gen master cylinder but after all.I have read i stay with 3th gen stuff. Going to change to steel braided line and dot 5.1 should be enough for me
I gotta stop watching your videos, you are costing me money 😂😂😂😂
Slick, and Kudos to you.
Another quick safety vid. well done. When I swapped to G92 rearend I also swapped the proportioning valve. Two weeks later an idiot didn't even look when he pulled out of parking lot in front of me - glad I did that valve too! This boosted blue one, seems I seen it on CL a while ago...PNW
I think he was selling the hood he had on that Blue 89.
👍
Are the 4th gen masters a decent upgrade? I'd assume they have a larger bore for the bigger brakes but was not sure.
the bore size on the pressure end is about the same. 0.94in vs 1in the 4th gen is a straight bore master that's better suited for modern brake swaps the 3rd gen master is a dual bore for use with GM's stupid 3rd gen low drag brakes but I see a lot of the 98-02 masters fail due to bad quality.
@@3rdGenGuy Thank you so much man this is great information! Might just save up the dough for an aftermarket set up. My buddy's Elantra N puts you through the windshield and I need that in my turd gen lol
A new stiffer spring in the proportion valve helps a lot
Thats why when I upgraded my brakes I sticked with the old 3rd gen mastercylinder Its a pain to bleed but they last FOR EV ER
whatever company is making those 98-02 masters is dong a bad job. I see at least 1 bad one about every month.
Got my ACdelco 3rd gen master cheap from Rockauto and haven’t had an issue with it.
good to hear. I'm assuming whatever parts store brand ones are not as good.
What size is the hex bit you used on the strut tower bolt, I am putting lowering springs on my third gen and can’t seem to find the right size
depends on the strut you use. some use different threads. I use Koni race struts that use a 14mm fine thread, but I think the oem struts use a larger nut.
Awesome...thnx
Thank you for the detailed videos, they are extremely helpful. i now know i will be cutting a hole in the floor lol
Please post a part number
go to a parts store and ask for "A 700r4 or 4l60e pump seal"
Cleanest trap mod I've ever seen. Insanely nice fit and finish. Well done.
Good video, made it look easy.
I have a perfect idea. Called let's go to Holland and help your overseas friend ( me ) with his 3th gen 305 TPI haha
I've been meaning to go to Holland since all my cousins live there. I'm something like 1/2 dutch. maybe in the future.
What catch can are you using
I currently use a Radium Competition VTA catch can. the one in the video is a Vent to engine version that wasn't enough for racing.
I’m in the middle of sanding and patching my floor. Was going to do sub frame connectors, definitely going to now that I have the carpet out.
When I hit the gas I was hearing a big slam. Looked under my car and found my rubber bushing had separated right in half.
❤❤
U da man
Perfect for California roads 👌
thanks for the help[anyway
Another question. In the video, you have the bolt going in from the back for the pivot point. I thought it was the opposite. 10:50 mark in the video.
it can be run either way depending on your clearance. in my case, the taller diff cover was a bit too close to my liking: so I switched the bolt direction.
Sounds great. Vibrants are welded straight onto the long tubes? How’s road clearance? Are you lowered?
lowest part of the exhaust is that spintech muffler. the vibrant bullet mufflers are well clear of everything.
@@3rdGenGuy I checked out your other video. I believe I have Speed Engineering long tubes and they scrape a bit here and there. My car has Eibach Sportlines. The V-bands were constantly getting hammered so I had to weld in a spacer and delete them. What made you choose the 3000 series versus the 9000 or 1000?
I don't really have issues with bottoming out due to the insane spring rates I'm running. as far as the muffler, I have (96) DBA limits at my local tracks and Autocross venues. I pull 95.0 DBA, so I'm already close to getting disqualified by the sound chief.
That's always reassuring when the area to weld your seat belts welds poorly...
it has Zinc and seam sealer. so you have to burn that off, then make a good weld. oem is just held in by a single bolt, so anything is stronger that that.
